ULTRAVOX LAMENT 40TH ANNIVERSARY RELEASE

Ultravox album Lament is scheduled for a special reissue later this year on both CD and vinyl to celebrate the album’s 40th anniversary.

The band’s seventh studio album, Lament was originally released in April 1984 and featured the singles ‘One Small Day’, ‘Dancing with Tears in My Eyes’ and the album title track. Lament reached No. 8 in the UK charts.

This new 72 track Deluxe Edition box set pulls together a newly remastered version of the album, all the single versions, B-sides, 12” remixes and rarities, along with 45 previously unreleased tracks, including a brand new 1980s style extended remix of every track on the album by Moby, Steve Wilson and Blank & Jones and Midge Ure, new 5.1 and Stereo mixes by Steven Wilson (Porcupine Tree), newly mixed full concert from Hammersmith Odeon 1984, and a handful of work in progress mixes.

The vinyl release has been remastered, cut at half-speed by Phil Kinrade and Barry Grint at AIR Studios, London. All formats have been designed replicating designer Peter Saville’s original black-print-on-black-card artwork.

The Deluxe Edition CD release will be a limited edition consisting of 5,000 units worldwide, 12” sized Box Set with 8 Discs (7CD/1DVD), a 20 page booklet, featuring an 8,000 word interview conducted by John Earls along with a reproduction tour programme and previously unseen photographs.

The first 100 super bundles pre-ordered via the Official Ultravox Store will come with a limited promotional 7” single of ‘White China’ (Steven Wilson Re-Mix Edit) and ‘Lament’ (Moby Re-Mix).
