SPARKS ADD EXTRA UK TOUR DATES

Sparks have announced extra live dates across Europe, adding to a run of dates that sees them perform in New Zealand for the first time in their near-six-decade career as well as shows in Japan, Australia, the UK and France. The newly confirmed shows include performances in the Netherlands and Belgium and, due to demand, new shows in the UK.

Having previously announced headline shows in London, Blackpool and Bournemouth, plus sold out gigs in Bristol and Glasgow, Sparks will return to York and Southend-on-Sea, both cities where they last played in 1974.

The newly added dates are:

Thursday 20 August – Netherlands, Nijmegen, Openluchttheater De Goffert

Tuesday 25 August – UK, York Barbican

Wednesday 26 August – UK, Southend-on-Sea, Cliffs Pavilion

Saturday 29 August – Belgium, Antwerp, De Roma

The band will also be performing at Green Man Festival and at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as special guests of Gorillaz. Ron and Russell Mael recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live alongside Gorillaz, performing ‘The Happy Dictator’, a collaboration between Sparks and Gorillaz that appears on Gorillaz’ latest album, The Mountain.

Following the release of their acclaimed 28th studio album MAD! and the companion EP MADDER!, the band’s 2025 world tour was rapturously received – plaudits included Louder Than War describing the show as “a hundred minutes of energetic, thrilling pop songs” while the Spectator called it “an unadulterated triumph” and The Scotsman enthused that the “Mael brothers take fans to heaven and back”.
