SCRITTI POLITTI’S CUPID & PSYCHE 85 TO BE REISSUED

This July sees a deluxe reissue of classic Scritti Politti album Cupid & Psyche 85. Boasting rarities from the band’s archive, this new release will also see the 13-song version of the album (created on release in 1985 for the then-new CD format) make its debut on LP. It will also be available on CD and streaming services.

Cupid & Psyche 85 marked the second studio album by Scritti Politti, originally released in the UK in June 1985. The album included singles such as ‘Wood Beez (Pray Like Aretha Franklin)’, ‘The Word Girl’ and ‘Perfect Way’. The album reached No. 5 in the UK charts on release.

In addition to the expanded version of Cupid & Psyche 85 on this reissue, it will also include ‘Perfect Way (Version)’, ‘Lover to Fall (12″ Dance Mix)’ and ‘Perfect Way (Perfect Way Mix)’, tracks handpicked from the Scritti Politti vault.

The Deluxe Edition has been overseen by Green Gartside, who contributes to the sleeve notes along with David Gamson, while the release has been remastered by Chris Athens, who has also worked with the likes of Drake and Beastie Boys.
